The motor-mouth chief commander of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) movement, Julius Malema, threw a tantrum when plans to launch the party’s branch in Namahadi, QwaQwa, proved to be a big flop.
Only a handful of people turned out for the ill-fated Wednesday ‘political rally’ and, like a petulant child, Malema fired one of his trademark harangues; this time at his own supporters.
“I have many members here, but now only a few people have turned up. You should not call me if you are cowards. Why are you not coming out? I cannot go to war with people who are not strong-willed and cannot make any proper decisions,” moaned the foul-mouthed Malema.
In spite of the miserly turn-out of people, Malema could still not acknowledge the fact that he is not as popular as he believes.
Instead, he attempted to shrug off the embarrassment by putting on a brave face and declaring: “I am still confident that my party stands a good chance of winning next year’s national elections.”
“We are not aiming at parliamentary seats. Only opposition parties do that. We are the government-in-waiting,” said the delusive former leader of the ANC Youth League.
