Following its shocking cancellation last year, die-hard patrons of Women of Note have celebrated the announcement of the show’s return. Festival director Lorato Gomolemo made the announcement this week.
The host company, Dots Design Agency, is collaborating with veteran artist Dr. Ester Mahlangu as part of repositioning the concert to become one of the biggest musical festivals in the province.
The partnership between the iconic artist and the agency is expected to give birth to a new painting that Women of Note will utilise in their visual identity for their 2019 campaign.
“We were not just looking to grow our brand; we were seeking a partnership that would celebrate the work of women in South Africa and beyond and expand our footprint artistically as well as promote the Free State as a tourism destination of choice and this collaboration with Dr. Mahlangu will help us to achieve these objectives,” said Gomolemo.
“Infusing the work of the legendary Dr. Mahlangu in the repositioning of our brand is nothing short of monumental for us as a company, for Mangaung as a city, and for South African arts in general,” she added.
