Lesedi FM has been nominated in five categories for this year’s Liberty Radio Awards.
The nominations were announced lately.
The adjudication process for the 2019 Liberty Radio Awards has now been completed. The results have been verified and announced on liberty website by Mazars, a Chartered Accounting firm, and the finalists for the various categories have been determined.
Lesedi FM won recognition for Best Afternoon Drive, Best Breakfast Show, Best Drama Programme, News and Quality and Weekend Radio Show.
In a statement, CEO of Liberty Radio Awards Lance Rothschild said, “With over 1,900 entries to evaluate, the adjudication panel had their work cut out for them.”
Rothschild noted, “I’m confident that the adjudication process will ensure that we recognise and honour the best radio work in South Africa over the past year.”
According to their mission, the awards aim to motivate and inspire the radio industry to set increasingly high standards and to develop programming that will keep listeners compelled, entertained, informed and advised. By focusing on quality, the industry will ensure its prominence and success well into the future.
“Recognition as a category finalist is already a significant achievement. It earmarks you as one of the best in your field,” emphasised Rothschild.
Lesedi FM Flying is delighted to be flying the provincial flag high. Previously, the station scooped best presenter of the year award, won by Nyakallo Ba2cada Leine.
Killy Bacela, Divisional Executive of Group Brand and Marketing at Liberty says on the web, “Liberty congratulates all the entrants – and wishes the finalists well. We’re looking forward to acknowledging the winners on Saturday April, 13. Radio, through its reach, is a powerful platform for news, stories and a particularly important platform from which listeners derive information and advice.”
Winners will be announced at the Liberty Radio Awards Banquet at the Sandton Convention Centre.
