The death of Matwetwe lead actor Sibusiso Khwinana has sparked anger and frustration on social media, as people highlighted the severity of crime in the country.
Sbu was stabbed in Pretoria last Friday night, reportedly over a cellphone.
The actor was on the rise to stardom, as the film, directed by comedian Kagiso Lediga and co-produced by DJ Black Coffee, made R2m in the first eight days.
According to police, Khwinana was allegedly approached by a suspect who demanded his phone. He was fatally stabbed while they were wrestling for the device.
Khwinana’s death comes shortly after 27-year-old Thoriso Themane, from Polokwane, dominated social media after he was fatally assaulted, allegedly by a group of high school pupils.
The actor’s death infuriated many, who felt not enough was being done to address crime in South Africa. -Timeslive
